My 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV has a Targeted Production Week
GM unveiled the 2017 Bolt EV at the International Consumers Electronic Show in Las Vegas on January 6 2016. Since that moment, I have been in touch with Myers Orleans Chevrolet Buick GMC, my local dealership.
Andrew McAlear, General Sales Manager at Myers Orleans in Ottawa, was excited to inform me last week that GM Canada has given them a thumbs up to place an order for the first Bolt within their district. Andrew told me to get in touch ASAP with Stéphane Paquet, Sales and Leasing Consultant in order to select the options I want because this first 2017 Chevrolet Bolt will be mine. Yes !
From my experience when I ordered my Volt back in 2011, I know I have to be patient. It took many months before I finally got my 2012 red Volt. I am ready to be patient. This time, it seems it will be faster than I have anticipated.
GM has production codes for each and every event for an order. My Order Workbench mentions :
- Event Code 1100 – Order Placed at Dealership – November 9 2016
- Event Code 1102 – Order Entered via Web – November 9 2016
- Event code 2000 – Order Accepted by GM – November 14 2016
- Event code 2500 – Order Preferenced, Sent to Production – November 15 2016
- Event code 3000 – Order Accepted by Production Control – November 16 2016
The most interesting information I received today is the Targeted Production Week. My 2017 Bolt EV should be in production on January 2nd 2017.

congrats. Before options I assume you chose a model — did they give you an indication of the price you would be looking at for that model and then price out the options as you were building? just wondering what to expect from the Myers on Baseline.

Thanks – ordered.
Hey Eric,
Did you test drive the vehicle before buying it? I cannot see myself putting down that kind of money for a car (1st year production to boot) without test driving it first.
I dount that any dealship will have a Bolt for people to test drive. These cars will go like hot cakes (I want one too), but I will want to test drive it first.
André
Hey André,
In 2012, the first Chevrolet Volt I could do a test drive with was the one I purchased after I paid for it. I will do the same for the Chevrolet Bolt.
I have never seen it.
I think more than 370 000 people have never seen the Tesla Model 3 at this point… and will buy it also. Correct ?
I will be happy to give you an opportunity to test drive mine 🙂
Hi Eric,
Apologies for the late reply. I am still blown away by your offer for a test drive. I appreciate your kind offer … and accept.
I am looking forward to meeting you and trying out the vehicle.
And, by the time you get the car, it will be winter and I also look forward to hearing how it handles the cold and the icy roads.
Again, thank you for the offer.
Andre
It looks like there will be at least 2 Bolt EV in Ottawa. I would love to know what trim level you got and which options you got. And I would love to hear your experience winter driving an EV in our winter. KC
I can affirm that there will be more than 25 Bolt in Ottawa.
Wilson Niblett north of Toronto had a demo that I drove before I ordered mine.
anybody have issues with keypass not being able to be set up on their bolt? two different phones, running android, no go . . .
